Yeah, that whole Dev and Ops working together thing is the dream, right? We've been playing around with some DevOps tools internally, trying to smooth out our release cycles, and it's definitely a journey. The idea of bringing in a dedicated "DevOps as a Service" team is pretty tempting. It's like, instead of us fumbling around trying to piece everything together, you'd have folks who live and breathe this stuff setting it all up properly.
I can totally see how it would free up our developers to actually, you know, develop, instead of constantly getting bogged down in deployment headaches and infrastructure quirks. Plus, keeping up with all the latest DevOps best practices feels like a full-time job in itself – having someone else handle that could be a massive win.
I'm particularly interested in hearing about the collaboration aspect. Did using a DaaS provider actually improve communication and teamwork between your Dev and Ops sides? And what about the cost? Was it a significant saving compared to hiring a dedicated in-house DevOps team?
Good shout bringing this up – definitely something worth digging into further!
